Sheridan, Michigan, has a new place to shop and eat. Timbers Market, a grocery store and fresh deli, has opened for daily business at 7033 S. Sheridan Road — the longtime home of the Timbers Event Center and Restaurant, which closed in late July. The market's official grand opening celebration is set for Saturday, October 31.
Timbers Market Opens in Sheridan, Offering New Grocery and Deli Options
Local radio station 97.9 WGRD reported on October 23 that the property, which first opened as the Timbers Event Center and Restaurant back in 2004, is "officially kicking off its next chapter." The former event venue and restaurant now serves Sheridan as a daily market, and WGRD described it as a new reason for drivers to "pull off the road, grab a quick, fresh bite, and stock up on household groceries."
What Now Detroit reported in September that new owner Melissa Martin took over the building after the previous owners announced in late July that the event center and restaurant would close. Martin initially teased an Oct. 3 grand opening, but the celebration has since been set for the end of the month.
What to Expect at Timbers Market
According to announcements from the market, shoppers will find a full line of groceries along with bulk food, hot food, bakery items, produce, deli offerings, and catering. A recent flyer for the business, cited by What Now Detroit, described the concept as "groceries, deli & hot food and catering."
The hot food station is still taking shape. WGRD reported that while the team fine-tunes the full daily menu, it has shared a behind-the-scenes Facebook sneak peek showing a practice run of smoked ribs and brisket, offering a preview of the smoked meats planned for that station.
